The database of UK certified agents and counsellors lists all the agent and counsellors who have successfully passed the assessments and agreed to the Code of Conduct.
This enables both education providers and students to check their chosen agent is certified. The British Council only certifies agents for their knowledge and awareness of the UK as a study destination. The British Council does not regulate, accredit or endorse agents. The fully searchable database can be filtered by country, city, agency or school name.
UK Education providers should seek appropriate legal advice on contracts. International students should follow the student guide. Education agents on this database receive a certificate to evidence that they have completed the course but are not permitted to use the British Council Logo. Agents using the British Council logo will be breaking the Code of Conduct and removed from the database.
How can I ensure my listing on the database?
One of the primary benefits of being a UK certified agent is that you will appear on the UK database of certified agents. The database is used by UK education providers and prospective international students to verify your certification. Please check the database to ensure that your details are listed and correct.
If you do not appear on the database but have passed your assessments, please log into the 'My Account' section of the hub and check that you have:
a. Ticked the box indicating whether you wish to appear on the database.
b. Read the code of ethical practice and ticked the box to accept it.
You can also amend any details in this section if necessary. If you need a certificate amended or any other assistance, please use the 'HELP' button in the bottom right corner of the webpage to connect with our dedicated website team.
